This large sculptural circular tray with wide a rim has a beautiful tactile surface from the burning process and lovely decorative splits and scars. This piece is a deep matt black with medullary rays and beautiful movement in the grain.

We use the Japanese technique of shou sugi ban to burn the oak - this process brings out the grain and highlights any beautiful knots, cracks & imperfections and gives the oak its charred matt black look.

Designed with a slight elevation, so that the tray can be easily lifted. To be used as part of your tea ritual, to serve small food bites or to display your treasured objects.

Finished with a food-safe eco hard wax oil that leaves the oak protected and with a natural matt finish.
