Square burnt oak serving plinth with sawn textured top surface and smooth chamfered edges. Each plinth is made from sustainably & locally sourced English Oak and has a deep matt black colour with beautiful movement in the grain.

Each plinth will have slight variations from the one shown.

We use the Japanese technique of shou sugi ban to burn the oak - this process brings out the grain and highlights any beautiful knots, cracks & imperfections and gives the oak it’s charred matt black look.

Designed for serving individual tea bowls or chawans, or for serving small food bites like sushi. Our burnt oak plinths can also be used to display your favourite ceramic pieces or other treasured objects.

Finished with a food-safe oil that leaves the oak protected and with a natural matt finish
